Using a palette of blues, greens, greys and pale yellows, no two mackerel are the same - each is unique. Jess Hughes' distinct mackerel are painted with water-based, non-toxic decorative paints and varnish. Handmade, using sustainable FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Birch Plywood.
 
Ready to hang creatively and individually on a picture hook.

5 Large fish (each approx. 42cm x 8.5cm)
5 Medium fish (each approx. 29cm x 6.5cm)
5 Small fish (approx. 22cm x 4cm)
5 Tiddlers (approx. 16.5cm x 3cm)
 
This shoal incorporates all four sizes available: Large, medium, small and The Tiddler.
 
The Iona Shoal layout is designed so that it can be displayed as a repeat pattern: 20, 40, 60, 80 etc etc.
 
Commissions for larger shoals are often based on purchasing the Iona shoals and can be displayed creatively in all sorts of shapes to create movement. See photographs.
 
Inspired by childhood memories of fishing, poking, paddling and messing about in old boats.
